A workshop organized by HPC in collaboration with ShareNet Netherlands on building the capacity of practitioners in Jordanian universities and research centers recently concluded.
According to a statement issued Sunday, HPC noted that this workshop aims to build the capacity of Jordanian universities and research centers in conducting studies and drafting reproductive health project documents to enhance the role of knowledge in creating evidence-based policies and practices.
The 4-day workshop also aimed to ensure the strategic utilization of resources to maximize benefits, as well as to enhance capacities in developing project documents to benefit in the future from grants to fund studies and improve qualitative research skills.
HPC Secretary General, Engineer Maisoon Al Zoubi, noted that HPC is implementing a project with funding support from ShareNet International to establish an online interactive platform to support reproductive health research, and facilitate the online and offline creation and dissemination of knowledge in the field of reproductive health and reproductive rights, and build the capacity of Jordanian universities and research centers in identifying knowledge gaps in this field.
Alzoubi stated that “the workshop aims to build the capacity of Jordanian universities and research centers in conducting studies and drafting reproductive health project reports, and to support universities in benefitting from the available projects and grants mainly in this field.
The Higher Population Council is considered the ShareNet national focal point for implementing activities in Jordan through local partners, to implement specialized scientific studies in national priority areas related to reproductive health.
